A menagery for the child of his time.
A regal lion, roosters and hens, an elephant, kangaroos, fishes and tortoises, long-eared donkeys, a forest cuckoo, a graceful swan…and 2 pianos. This merry parade conceived by Camille Saint-Saëns really should not surprise us: he was, after all, among the first composers to write original music for films.
